DJ Rubato 2nd Single Album <Seed>
뮤지션에게 있어 사랑하는 ‘누군가’를 위한 곡을 만든다는 건 특별한 감명을 주는 행위다. 우리가 불후의 명곡이라 칭송하는 세상의 수많은 사랑 노래는 뮤지션에게 어떤 특별한 ‘영감(Inspiration)’을 준 ‘누군가’가 있었기에 세상의 빛을 볼 수 있다 해도 과언이 아니다.
2011년 6월, 국내 트랜스 뮤지션 DJ Rubato가 출시한 두 번째 싱글앨범 <Seed> 역시 그가 사랑하는 한 사람에게 영감을 얻어 꽃을 피웠다. 그러나 중요한 건 뻔한 사랑 고백의 음악은 아니라는 것.
감성적이고 섬세함을 추구했던 ‘Blessing Day’, '불어라 봄바람 (Spring Breeze)’ 등 전작과 달리 ‘Seed'는 보다 힘있고 강력한 사운드를 보여주는 곡이다. 그가 본질적으로 추구하고자 했던 프로그레시브 트랜스의 색깔이 뚜렷해진 동시에 스케일도 더욱 웅장해졌다. 심장박동을 자극하는 빠른 비트, 몽환적인 멜로디와 이펙팅이 ‘운명적인 사랑’에 빠져버린 순간처럼 강한 의지를 표출할 수 있게 에너지를 북돋아준다.
도대체 그에게 ‘Inspiration’을 준 건 과연 누구일까? 그 대상은 이제 겨우 돌이 지난 사랑스러운 ‘조카’이다. 어느 봄날, 그의 작업실에 나타난 조카를 끌어안고 즐겁게 춤 춘 것을 계기로 'Seed'는 탄생했다. 봄날, 그리고 어린 아이. 그것은 새로운 시작인 동시에 미래다. 모든 씨앗은 그 안에 열매를 품고 있다. 'Seed'를 들으며 가슴이 두근거리는 '시작'의 에너지가 발생하는 건 바로 그 때문일 것이다. 사랑을 넘어서는 사랑, 그래서 더욱 특별한 영감을 주는 곡. ‘Seed'의 감상 포인트는 바로 여기에 있다.
